The Heart of Performance
…. is the ultimate pursuit of excellence within, and the ability to deliver that excellence in performance. The performer with an open heart pours out their talent and intention; the heart of the receiver is flooded with possibility and hope. The wounded spirit is treated and all participants are advanced a few steps further into enlightened and joyous living. What could be more noble? |
Going Beyond Performance Anxiety
Do you ever hear a student or colleague say, “I can’t wait until my recital is over!” Perhaps you don’t always feel truly prepared for a joyful and successful experience. Through deep discussion, Dr. Graves will show you how to identify and foster the aspects of your own human experience that will lead you to a fulfilling and rewarding performance experience.
Dr. Graves will show you how to integrate your heart and intention and apply them practically to performance. As teachers we have to understand intimately our own approach to performance and how we offer our music gifts in order to better serve and guide our students. Participants are invited to bring their questions and stories about performance as we explore the topic that seems to be the most elusive, and at times, the most mysterious. Performance is the result of our process. Clarity of intention within the process can effect powerful changes in how we approach and natigate every performance. Dr. Graves' characteristic humor helps us lend perspective on our performance goals, and she provides specific tools to use to help identify and employ the energy and confidence required for a beautiful outcome. |
